First Time With A Saddle

The training for Vermillion has begun

Mitch hummed as he led his newest champion-in-the-making, Vermillion, to the small indoor arena, tapping the leadrope against his leg. Cailaen walked after him, carrying the tack, grumbling to himself about being the 'whipping boy' or something like that. Mitch glanced back and him and grinned.
"What, aren't you honoured to even be near me?" he teased, only to get a dry, 'that wasn't funny' look from the blonde.
"Yes, definitely, I am just sooooo honoured," Cailaen huffed, rolling his eyes. Mitch sniggered, stopping in front of the arena doors. He hollered to make sure no one was inside, waited a few moments, then opened the doors slowly and peeked in. It was totally empty.
"Good," he nodded before walking in. Vermillion glanced around curiously, ears pricked, though he wasn't about to run around bucking with joy like any other young stallion. Cailaen dumped the stuff on the side of the arena, on the wall, and puffed.
"Careful with the leather, Cail, it's worth more than you are," Mitch grinned.
"Stooop," Cailaen whined, flicking his ear, "That's not funny." Mitch laughed, hitting him over the head playfully, then quickly got down to business so not to spook Vermillion. They spent a long time easing the stallion under the tack, which he took surprisingly easily with a face that read 'please get on with it', and were heading back to the barn a bit later, chattering merrily.
